This notice explains how Alex Stansbury — Wills & Estates ("I", "me") uses your personal information. Alex Stansbury is a trading name of Project Will Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16839327), registered office 4 Alexander Drive, Worksop, Nottinghamshire, S81 7NP. Project Will Ltd is the data controller.

what I collect
When you use the booking form or contact me: your name, phone number, email, town or village, what you need and anything you choose to tell me.
When I act for you: the information needed to prepare your will, trust, lasting power of attorney or Executor Pack — which can include details about your family, your health (for health and welfare LPAs) and your finances.
information about other people
Your documents will name other people — children, partners, executors, trustees, guardians, attorneys and beneficiaries. I hold their names and contact details because the documents can't work without them. The legal basis is legitimate interests: making sure your wishes are recorded and can be carried out. Please let the people you name know you've shared their details with me.
why I use it, and the legal basis
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange a visit — steps you've asked for before entering a contract.
- To prepare and store your documents — performing our contract.
- To keep records I'm required to keep, such as for tax — legal obligation.
- To keep a record of the advice and documents I gave you, in case of a later question or claim — legitimate interests.
- Health information — only with your explicit consent, and only where a document needs it. You can withdraw that consent at any time; it doesn't affect anything already done.
If you'd rather not give me some information, I may not be able to prepare your documents properly — I'll tell you if that's the case. I don't sell your information, and I don't use it for marketing unless you ask me to. No decisions about you are made by automated means.
who I share it with
Only where needed to do the work: HM Courts and Tribunals Service (will storage), the Office of the Public Guardian (LPA registration), my email and IT providers, and [CONFIRM any drafting, printing or storage partners]. The website enquiry form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile and your enquiry is sent to me by email through Cloudflare Email Routing.
transfers outside the UK
Some of my providers, including Cloudflare, may process information outside the UK. Where they do, it's protected by UK adequacy regulations or the UK's approved data transfer agreements.
how long I keep it
- Enquiries that don't go ahead: 12 months.
- Client files and copies of your documents: for as long as your documents may be needed — for a will, that usually means for your lifetime — and for 6 years after my work for you ends.
cookies and analytics
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or track you across sites. The booking form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to stop spam. No advertising or tracking cookies are set.
your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask me to correct or delete it, ask me to restrict how it's used, object to how it's used, or ask for it in a format you can take elsewhere. Contact me at info@alexstansbury.co.ukor 03330 495033. I'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
